Cyrus McCormick Farm

We vistited the Cyrus McCormick Farm on our trip to Williamsburg this week. We passed it on Interstate 81 in Virginia and we had just finished studying him in school in The Story of Inventions.

Cyrus H. McCormick invented the reaper. We got to see one of the reapers he invented on the farm. One of pictures below shows the house he grew up in, but it is not open to the public. The building on the right below is the grist mill that is operated by a watermill. The reaper cut the wheat and stacked it. It completely changed the wheat industry.
