Sycamore Shoals State Historic Area

Our Co-op went to Sycamore Shoals State Historic Area. This was one of the earliest settlements outside of the original 13 colonies. We participated in a program describing the Fort, period dress, etc. Then the children played a game from the time period and toured the fort. They also got to see a musket fired. Finally, the kids made corn husk dolls.

We went on a field trip to Sycamore Shoals

Nature Study (Trees)

Our October Co-op Nature Study was at our house studying trees. We began with a devotion focused on trees.

Then we did a Scavenger Hunt looking for various trees. The kids collected a nature item to paint with their watercolors in their Nature Notebooks. Here are some of the kids painting.

And taking a break for fun...

Below are pictures of a Fall Webworm Moth that was found. Isn't it beautiful!!

Morristown Safari Ranch

Our co-op went to the Morristown Safari Ranch. We rode in tractor pulled wagons through the park. There were all sorts of animals that greeted us! They would stick their heads through the bars of our wagon to get the bucket feed. We saw zebras, texas long horns, emus, deer, elk, and much more!
